What usually stops people — answered

What if something breaks after you've been paid?

Tier-1 panels and inverters with manufacturer warranties, installed by our own crews rather than subcontractors, plus a workmanship warranty on the installation itself — the exact terms are printed on every kit page and repeated in your quote. Remote monitoring usually shows us a fault before you notice it.

Who deals with the trámites and the town hall?

We do. The technical memoria, the ayuntamiento declaration, the electrical certificate, the registration with the distributor and the switch to a self-consumption contract are all inside the turnkey price. You sign; we file.

Will anything be in a language I don't read?

No. We work in English, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. The quote, the contract, the warranty and the handover walkthrough are in your language, and so is the person who answers when you write.

I live in an apartment — do I need the comunidad to agree?

On a shared roof, yes — and that approval is yours to obtain, not something we can promise on your behalf. Spanish law (LPH art. 17.1) lets a comunidad approve solar with a one-third majority instead of unanimity, and we prepare the technical description and documents you put to the junta. ENERA does the installation itself and files everything with the town hall — the licencia or declaración responsable. If you would like us alongside you at the meeting, or to help submit the request, that is often possible and is sometimes included in the price of the system: write to us and we will agree how to handle it. On your own roof or private terrace you decide alone, and a shared installation can be split between several flats.

I'm not in Els Poblets all year — is it still worth it?

Yes, and it needs nobody at home. Everything the panels produce while the house is empty goes to the grid and is credited on your bill under compensación de excedentes, and you can watch production in the monitoring app from anywhere. We can also size the system around the months you are actually here.

This is not an edge case in Els Poblets: 7.3% of its homes are registered as tourist accommodation (INE), so a roof that keeps producing while nobody is in the house is normal work for ENERA here.

Why Els Poblets suits solar

Els Poblets's housing is predominantly detached houses and villas on generous plots — a small population spread over a low-density footprint, rather than the dense apartment blocks common further down the coast. Most roofs here are unshaded and get clean southern exposure.

47.9% of Els Poblets's residents are foreign-born, and with the highest average income of any town on our Costa Blanca patch and a resident population that skews notably older, this is a community of largely full-time, comfortably retired or semi-retired homeowners who run their properties year-round. That consumption pattern — steady, all-year electricity use rather than seasonal holiday spikes — is exactly what makes solar pay back fastest. ENERA runs design, installation and paperwork end to end.

What does a solar installation cost in Els Poblets?

A typical Els Poblets home takes a 5–8 kW system, priced between €4,400 and €7,000 fully installed — panels, inverter, mounting, labour, legalisation and VAT all in one fixed, itemised quote. Flat and low-pitch roofs common in Els Poblets's villas take ballasted aluminium frames tilted to about 35° for peak yield. Every installation connects through i-DE, the Iberdrola-group distributor for Alicante province, and we handle that paperwork for you.

Solar incentives and tax breaks in Els Poblets

Els Poblets's ordenanza fiscal grants an IBI property-tax bonification of 20% for solar thermal and a further 20% for solar electric self-consumption — compatible with each other but capped together at 30% of the quota — for the four tax periods after installation, on predominantly residential buildings whose collectors are type-approved and not legally compulsory. A separate 95% ICIO construction-tax bonification applies to the solar share of the works budget, with an itemised budget and technical report required.

The Comunitat Valenciana's IRPF income-tax deduction also applies: up to 40% of the installation cost for a habitual residence, around 20% for a second home, claimed on your annual declaración de la renta, up to €8,800 per dwelling per year. ENERA prepares the certificates and applications for all of it.

How much can you save on electricity in Els Poblets?

With Spanish grid electricity around €0.19 per kWh and rising, a well-sized system in Els Poblets can cut a household's annual bill by roughly €970–1,390. Full-time occupancy and year-round consumption — the norm for Els Poblets's resident profile — line up well with solar output; surplus is credited under Spain's compensación de excedentes net-billing scheme. At Els Poblets's irradiation levels, payback on a typical installation is around 3.9–5.5 years.

How your installation works, start to finish

ENERA runs the whole project as a single turnkey service. It starts with a remote design from satellite imagery and a recent electricity bill, sizing the system to your real consumption and sending a fixed, itemised quote. Installation on a typical Els Poblets home takes one to two days on the roof. In parallel we prepare and submit every document: the technical memoria, the electrical certificate (boletín), i-DE registration and the compensación de excedentes agreement, plus the municipal licence and IBI/ICIO bonification applications with Els Poblets's Ayuntamiento. Solar in Els Poblets: your questions

How much do solar panels cost in Els Poblets?

How much can I save with solar in Els Poblets?

Most Els Poblets households save roughly €970–1,390 a year, with grid power around €0.19 per kWh. Year-round, full-time occupancy — typical here — makes the most of solar output, with surplus credited under compensación de excedentes. Typical payback is around 3.9–5.5 years.

Can foreign or non-resident owners in Els Poblets go solar?

Yes. About 47.9% of Els Poblets's residents are foreign-born, and non-residents install solar on the same terms as Spanish residents — you need only a Spanish NIE number and proof of ownership. ENERA works in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish and Russian, and handles the grid registration and town-hall paperwork for you.

Do I need permission for solar panels in Els Poblets, and are there local rebates?

A standard Els Poblets install goes through as a declaración responsable at the Ayuntamiento, plus registration with i-DE for the grid connection — ENERA files both. Els Poblets's ordenanza fiscal grants a combined IBI bonification of up to 30% (20% thermal plus 20% electric, capped together) for four years, and a 95% ICIO bonification on the solar share of the works budget; ENERA applies for both once your system is installed.

How much energy will a system produce in Els Poblets?

Els Poblets receives about 2,034 kWh/m² of solar irradiation a year. On a south-facing roof pitched near 35°, each installed kWp generates roughly 1,598 kWh annually.

Do I need a battery for my Els Poblets home?

Not necessarily. Without a battery, you use solar directly by day and export the rest for credit under compensación de excedentes — usually the fastest payback given Els Poblets's full-time resident consumption pattern. A battery makes sense if you want to shift more consumption to the evening or want backup during outages. We model both options in your quote.
