4.6★ · 116 Google reviews · 581 installations · since 2013 · 8 languages

Turnkey from 3700 € — a typical 4 kWp system in Benidorm pays for itself in 3.8–5.4 years.

The price includes panels, inverter, mounting, installation, town-hall legalisation and the switch to a self-consumption contract. VAT included.

Our own crews, Tier-1 components, and we handle the paperwork end to end.

Best known abroad for its high-rise skyline, Benidorm is also home to thousands of low-rise houses and villas on its inland and hillside fringes — and to some of the strongest solar irradiation on the Costa Blanca. ENERA designs, installs and legalises turnkey systems here in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish or Russian.

Dot locations are approximate and are never a customer address: we protect our clients' privacy. System size and date are real.

Installations we've delivered in Benidorm

Real installations, anonymised. The annual figure is modelled from the installed system size at the local solar yield — never a customer’s private bill.

What usually stops people — answered

Will anything be in a language I don't read?

No. We work in English, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. The quote, the contract, the warranty and the handover walkthrough are in your language, and so is the person who answers when you write.

Ask us on WhatsApp
I live in an apartment — do I need the comunidad to agree?

On a shared roof, yes — and that approval is yours to obtain, not something we can promise on your behalf. Spanish law (LPH art. 17.1) lets a comunidad approve solar with a one-third majority instead of unanimity, and we prepare the technical description and documents you put to the junta. ENERA does the installation itself and files everything with the town hall — the licencia or declaración responsable. If you would like us alongside you at the meeting, or to help submit the request, that is often possible and is sometimes included in the price of the system: write to us and we will agree how to handle it. On your own roof or private terrace you decide alone, and a shared installation can be split between several flats.

Who deals with the trámites and the town hall?

We do. The technical memoria, the ayuntamiento declaration, the electrical certificate, the registration with the distributor and the switch to a self-consumption contract are all inside the turnkey price. You sign; we file.

What if something breaks after you've been paid?

Tier-1 panels and inverters with manufacturer warranties, installed by our own crews rather than subcontractors, plus a workmanship warranty on the installation itself — the exact terms are printed on every kit page and repeated in your quote. Remote monitoring usually shows us a fault before you notice it.

I'm not in Benidorm all year — is it still worth it?

Yes, and it needs nobody at home. Everything the panels produce while the house is empty goes to the grid and is credited on your bill under compensación de excedentes, and you can watch production in the monitoring app from anywhere. We can also size the system around the months you are actually here.

Is solar worth it in Benidorm?

Benidorm's skyline of towers hides a much larger stock of individual houses spread across its outskirts — Rincón de Loix's hillside streets, La Cala, and the quieter residential pockets bordering Finestrat and La Nucía. PVGIS puts annual irradiation at 2,110 kWh/m² here, among the highest readings on this coast, giving a specific yield of 1,656 kWh per installed kWp and a typical payback of around 3.8–5.4 years for a well-sized home system.

Why Benidorm suits solar — for the right roof

Benidorm is unusual on this coast: most of its 77,327 residents live in apartment blocks, not detached houses, so a shared tower roof needs sign-off from the comunidad de propietarios before any panel goes up — a process ENERA can support but not shortcut. The real opportunity sits in the town's low-rise areas: houses and small villas on the Rincón de Loix hillside, in La Cala, and along the inland edges toward Finestrat and La Nucía, most with clear, unshaded roofs and generous southern exposure.

32.1% of Benidorm's residents are foreign-born, and with an average income of about €12,263 per resident, many of these households run pool pumps and air-conditioning through the summer months — exactly the daytime load that makes a home system pay for itself fastest. ENERA runs the whole project — design, installation and town-hall paperwork — in your own language.

What does a solar installation cost in Benidorm?

Because most eligible Benidorm properties are individual houses rather than large villas, a typical system here runs 4–6 kW, priced between €3,700 and €5,400 fully installed — panels, inverter, mounting, labour, legalisation and VAT all included in one fixed, itemised quote. Flat-roofed houses take ballasted aluminium frames tilted to about 35° for peak yield; pitched tiled roofs take corrosion-resistant hooks that don't crack a single tile. For an apartment on a shared roof, pricing depends on how the comunidad divides the installation — ENERA can quote either an individual allocation or a full building system. Every installation connects through i-DE, the Iberdrola-group distributor for Alicante province, and we handle that paperwork for you.

Solar incentives and tax breaks in Benidorm

We checked Benidorm's current IBI and ICIO tax ordinances in full, and — despite a rebate having been floated in local press — neither carries a solar bonification today: there is no municipal property-tax or construction-tax discount for a photovoltaic installation in Benidorm at present. Ordenanzas fiscales are re-approved every autumn, so this can change, and ENERA tracks it.

What does apply is the regional layer: the Comunitat Valenciana offers an IRPF income-tax deduction of up to 40% of the installation cost for a habitual residence (around 20% for a second home), claimed on your annual declaración de la renta, on a deduction base of up to €8,800 per dwelling per year. ENERA prepares the certificates you need to claim it and tells you honestly what does and doesn't apply to your property, rather than promising a municipal discount that Benidorm does not currently offer.

How much can you save on electricity in Benidorm?

With Spanish grid electricity around €0.19 per kWh and rising, a well-sized system in Benidorm can cut a household's annual bill by roughly €770–1,110. Houses with pool pumps or all-day air-conditioning capture the most value, since that consumption lines up with peak solar output. Whatever you don't use directly is exported under Spain's net-billing scheme, compensación de excedentes, crediting your surplus against what you draw at night. At Benidorm's irradiation levels, payback on a typical installation lands around 3.8–5.4 years, with 20-plus years of production left after that. These are estimates: every quote we send includes a month-by-month projection built around your real consumption, not a generic average.

How your installation works, start to finish

ENERA runs the whole project as a single turnkey service. We start with a remote design from satellite imagery and a recent electricity bill, sizing the system to your real consumption and sending a fixed, itemised quote — no site visit needed for a firm number. If you go ahead, installation on a typical Benidorm house takes one to two days on the roof. For an apartment building, the comunidad de propietarios has to approve the works first: that approval is the owner's to obtain, and what we do is write the technical description of the installation for you to put to the junta. We can also come to the meeting or help you file the request — sometimes that is included in the price of the system, so write to us and we'll agree how to handle it. In parallel we prepare and submit every document: the technical memoria, the electrical certificate (boletín), i-DE registration for the grid connection and the compensación de excedentes agreement, plus the municipal licence with Benidorm's Ayuntamiento. You sign; we file. Throughout, you deal with one multilingual team — English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish or Russian.

Solar in Benidorm: your questions

How much do solar panels cost in Benidorm?

A typical Benidorm house takes a 4–6 kW system, priced between €3,700 and €5,400 fully installed — panels, inverter, mounting, labour, town-hall legalisation and VAT all included in one fixed quote. Apartment buildings pricing depends on how the comunidad de propietarios splits an installation across owners; we quote both individual and shared-roof options.

How much can I save with solar in Benidorm?

Most Benidorm households save roughly €770–1,110 a year, with grid power around €0.19 per kWh. Pool pumps and daytime air-conditioning — common in Benidorm's house-and-villa areas — line up well with solar output, and surplus is credited under compensación de excedentes. Typical payback is around 3.8–5.4 years, followed by two decades or more of near-free electricity, though your actual saving depends on your consumption pattern.

Can foreign or non-resident owners in Benidorm go solar?

Yes. About 32.1% of Benidorm's residents are already foreign, and non-residents install solar routinely — you need only a Spanish NIE number and proof of ownership, no residency required. ENERA works entirely in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish and Russian, and handles the grid registration and town-hall licence for you.

Do I need permission for solar panels in Benidorm, and are there local rebates?

A standard Benidorm house install goes through as a declaración responsable at the Ayuntamiento, plus registration with i-DE for the grid connection — ENERA files both. We checked Benidorm's IBI and ICIO ordinances in full: neither currently offers a municipal solar discount, so treat any '50% rebate' you may have read about as unconfirmed until the town hall enacts it. The Comunitat Valenciana's IRPF deduction (up to 40% for a main residence) still applies regardless. On a shared apartment-building roof, the comunidad de propietarios must also agree the works before we can file anything.

How much energy will a system produce in Benidorm?

Benidorm receives about 2,110 kWh/m² of solar irradiation a year, among the strongest readings on the Costa Blanca. On a south-facing roof pitched near 35°, each installed kWp generates roughly 1,656 kWh annually — enough to cover a large share of a typical household's consumption, with surplus exported for credit.

Do I need a battery for my Benidorm home?

Not necessarily. Without a battery, you use solar directly by day and export the rest for credit under compensación de excedentes — usually the fastest payback for a Benidorm house. If you live in an apartment on a shared-roof system, a battery can help store your allocated share of production for evening use rather than exporting it at a lower credit rate. We model both options in your quote.
