Is solar worth it in Elche?

Why Elche's housing stock suits solar
Elche's building stock is genuinely mixed: dense residential blocks close to the historic centre, newer developments around Carrús and El Pla, and — distinctively for a city this size — thousands of detached houses spread across its rural partidas (El Altet, Torrellano, Valverde, Perleta and others), many on generous plots with unshaded, south-facing roofs. It's this partida housing stock, more than the town centre, that makes the strongest solar case: large roofs, high summer air-conditioning loads, and none of the shared-roof complications of a block of flats.

Solar incentives and tax breaks in Elche
Elche's current ordenanza fiscal grants a 50% IBI property-tax bonification, once only and for at most three tax periods, on predominantly residential property — the certificate must show at least 1 kW installed per 50 m² built, and the benefit isn't available where the installation is legally required. We didn't find a solar clause in the ICIO construction-tax ordinance, so we don't claim one exists.
On top of that, the Comunitat Valenciana offers an IRPF income-tax deduction of up to 40% of the installation cost for a habitual residence (around 20% for a second home), claimed on your annual declaración de la renta, up to €8,800 per dwelling per year.
