The historic casco antiguo is dense and tiled, with smaller roofs suited to modest systems; the coastal urbanisations toward Fanadix and the Benissa coast are dominated by larger detached villas, most with flat or gently pitched roofs, pools and clear southern exposure.

Benissa's current ordenanza fiscal grants a 50% IBI property-tax bonification on photovoltaic systems for residential-use property, capped at €250 a year for the first three tax periods and €150 a year in years four and five — you'll need to apply within three months of installation, and the Generalitat self-consumption certificate. We checked Benissa's ICIO construction-tax ordinance and found no solar clause in it, despite claims sometimes made elsewhere.
The Comunitat Valenciana's IRPF income-tax deduction also applies: up to 40% of the installation cost for a habitual residence, around 20% for a second home, claimed on your annual declaración de la renta, up to €8,800 per dwelling per year.
