In Growatt self-consumption systems, the SPH range corresponds to hybrid inverter models that work as a classic grid connection inverter that also has the possibility of accumulating surplus photovoltaic production in a 48V battery of any type. It can be both a lead and a lithium model.

You can have a system that directly contributes the energy produced by solar panels to electricity consumption in real time. If the production is higher than the consumption, energy will be used to charge the battery so that it can contribute at times of low production or at night. Growatt’s SPH range of grid-connected inverters has single-phase and three-phase options, although the ones that are capable of working with 48V batteries are the single-phase versions, leaving the three-phase ones for high-voltage lithium accumulation exclusively. It is an economical installation, given the characteristics that such an installation can provide us.

Photovoltaic Panel Installation Process

System Outline
Our self-consumption installation can be started with the hybrid inverter and the panels. In the future it can be complemented with accumulation in batteries, in case our consumption pattern does not coincide mainly with the hours of greatest production. The energy that the panels have provided in hours of sunlight, we will have it stored so that we can use it at another time, reducing to the maximum the use of energy from the electrical network. Furthermore, the advantage of single-phase models that use Pylontech lithium batteries is their great expandability. We can gradually add modules to suit our needs without making a large initial investment.

The Growatt inverter is interconnected with the electrical grid, so it must always be available, and the energy produced by the panels is injected as our first priority for consumption. However, it integrates an EPS emergency supply function that can generate an auxiliary network if the electrical network falls and can supply us from the sun and batteries. For this, a contactor is necessary as a complement.
With this system we will reduce our billing because our electrical installation will make use of solar energy as a first priority, and according to our preferences also the battery before the electrical network. All this is imperceptible to the use since we will not notice absolutely nothing when all the energy sources are being combined or we only supply ourselves with solar energy.

In these facilities the amortization time increases due to the cost of the battery or if we have a system without accumulation, although thanks to the high number of battery life cycles and not requiring any maintenance, they can be very interesting and profitable depending of our consumption profile. It is highly recommended to have an hourly discrimination rate that reduces the cost of energy that we consume outside the hours of solar production, so we can even charge the battery from the network if there are several days of bad weather in hours in which energy is more economical.

There are single-phase models from the Growatt SPH range between 3000 and 6000W. You will be able to see in the manufacturer’s app from your smartphone and also from the web portal your graphs of production, savings and overall performance of your solar installation. One of the main qualities of the SPH range is that they incorporate first-rate features and great performance for the price they have, in fact the wattmeter is integrated and the toroidal sensor is included, and you can also give connectivity to the inverter both wired as wifi with its corresponding accessories. In a photovoltaic kit we will include all the necessary components for a perfect operation.

The wattmeter can also be added externally in case the inverter is installed far from the connection.

Kit Component Details

ESPSC Monocrystalline Solar Module
The 400W monocrystalline solar panel ERA is a 24V model and 72 PERC type cells. With 25 years of power guarantee, it offers the best performance on the market thanks to monocrystalline silicon cells and PERC type. It belongs to the family of 24V panels, although given the high power it provides, it is advisable to use MPPT regulators respecting the recommended series and groupings. This solar panel is the most powerful and that best behaviour for all radiation conditions, even for high-temperature thanks to its PERC technology. Thanks to having the same size as the 330W models, we can have much more capacity to capture energy with the same occupied space. It is able to provide about 2000Wh per day on average in our solar installation, taking into account that production will be substantially higher in summer than in winter. Includes 90 cm of wiring for each pole with MC4 connectors at its ends. This photovoltaic module comes with an assembled aluminium frame ready to be attached to any structure.


Pylontech US2000B Plus 48V 2.4kWh Lithium Battery
The Pylontech US2000 48V 2.4kWh Lithium Battery is an advanced Lithium Ion Phosphate accumulator that allows us to have an accumulator of Lithium technology at a very competitive price and with very attractive technical characteristics. Up to 40 units can be installed in parallel through a hub to offer greater energy accumulation.


3kW Growatt SPH3000 Hybrid Inverter
The 3kW Growatt SPH3000 Hybrid Inverter is an advanced grid-connected inverter model capable of working with 48V batteries for self-consumption. It is a model prepared to work in installations that have an electrical network and offers a series of characteristics that make it very complete. It incorporates an integrated wattmeter, including the measuring toroidal clamp. It has communications with the BMS of Pylontech batteries and is also capable of working with 48V Lead batteries. It has an emergency power outlet when the power goes out, 2 MPPT and a design without moving parts or fan, with passive dissipation and IP65 protection.


Weidmuller PVStick connectors
They are a type of connector that does not require any tools to be able to assemble it with the cable, they are very useful since they have compatibility with the connectors that the vast majority of solar panels carry as standard, the MC4 connectors. We only have to strip the cable approximately 1.5cm and insert it through the hole of the connector.

Once introduced, we must strongly press the connector with the cable inwards until a click is heard. At this time we will know that the connector has been properly installed because if we pull the cable it will no longer come out. The cables compatible with the Weidmuller PV Stick connector are from 4mm2 to 10mm2.

Structure on Metal Cover KH915
The structure on metal roof that we offer in the kit is special to be fixed on any coplanar surface, be it in an industrial warehouse or private home that has a sloping roof. The structure has all the certificates and load regulations. The orientation of the roof must be south to avoid losses. The structure includes an assembly manual for the structure as well as all the necessary hardware to anchor the solar panels to it.
