Pricing guide
How much does a solar panel installation cost in Spain in 2026
A turnkey solar panel installation in Spain ranges from €2,961 to €11,412 VAT included. The difference depends mostly on installed power (kW), whether a lithium battery is included, and roof complexity. For a typical Spanish 3-4 person household with 4,500 kWh/year consumption, the typical system is 5 kW (10-12 panels) and costs around €6,072 — recoverable in 4-6 years given the electricity price increases forecast for 2026 and beyond.
At Enera Solar we quote closed turnkey prices: what you see is what you pay, no intermediate add-ons. We accept a 10% deposit when locking in the date, and the rest is paid on installation day with the panels already running. This covers JA Solar or Tensite panels, Growatt inverter and battery, mounting on tile or sheet-metal roofs, town-hall legalisation (Declaración Responsable de Obra Menor) and the contract switch to autoconsumo with your electricity provider.
Five factors that determine the price
When two identical homes get different quotes, it's almost always one of these five reasons:
01
Annual electricity consumption
The higher the consumption, the more power needed. 3,000 kWh/year → 3 kW (€2,961). 4,500 kWh/year → 5 kW (€4,422). 7,000 kWh/year → 8 kW (€6,919). We extract this automatically from your bill.
02
Roof type and orientation
Tile roof facing south at 30° = optimal. Flat roof needs a tilted structure (+€400). East or west orientation reduces annual production by 5-15% but the system remains profitable. Slate or asbestos cement complicates installation (+€300-€800).
03
Whether it includes a lithium battery
Without battery: sell surplus to the grid (autoconsumo compensation). With a 5-15 kWh battery: nighttime self-consumption + outage backup, +€2,200-€4,500. Recommended if you have high nighttime consumption, an EV, or live in a frequent-outage area.
04
If you add an EV charger
A Growatt EV charger integrated with the solar system adds €750-€1,200 (includes installation and protection panel). Free charging from daytime surplus. Compatible with all electric vehicles on the market and with the rest of the Growatt system — a single support point.
05
Region and available subsidies
Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol and Cataluña have Plan MOVES III active in 2026 (up to €600/kWp). IRPF (deduction up to 40%) and IBI (25-50% rebate over 3-5 years) are nationwide but exact percentages vary by municipality.
These prices are indicative for the Costa Blanca area with average tariffs. Pricing remains similar (±5%) across other Autonomous Communities, with a logistics surcharge for projects in Madrid, Cataluña, Andalucía and the rest of Spain. For large commercial projects (>50 kW) or installations in France, Portugal and Italy, pricing is quoted per project.
How to choose
How to choose the right solar system for your home
The most common mistake when buying solar panels is over-sizing the system (you pay more, recover slower) or under-sizing it (it doesn't cover your consumption and you lose the main savings). The right method is to start from your real annual consumption — the figure on your bill — and size to cover 70-90% of that consumption. The rest is bought from the grid at off-peak rates, where energy is cheaper.

When a battery makes sense
A lithium battery (5-15 kWh) makes sense in three concrete scenarios: (1) you consume a lot at night — lights, washing machine, A/C, EV charging — more than 40% of total consumption. (2) You live in an area with frequent outages (rural Costa Blanca, Sierra de Madrid, inland Andalucía) and want automatic backup. (3) You want to maximise energy autonomy and reduce dependency on your electricity provider. If your consumption is mostly daytime (kids at home, remote work, A/C only during the day), the battery takes longer to amortise and we usually recommend starting without it and adding it later.
When to add an EV charger
If you have or plan to buy an electric vehicle within the next 3 years, adding a Growatt EV charger to the solar system from the start pays off: the electrical installation is done in one go (saving €300-€500 vs doing it later) and the charger power (7.4 kW or 22 kW three-phase) is sized together with the inverter. Since the charger, inverter and battery are all Growatt, they share the same software and control panel. Charging your car with free solar energy is what amortises the complete system fastest — a Tesla Model 3 charged with sun instead of the grid saves about €40/month in mobility electricity.

What our clients say
Real reviews from real installations across Spain.
Direct answers, based on 10 years of installations.
A turnkey residential installation runs from €3,500 (3 kW, 6 panels) to €12,000 (15 kW, 30 panels + battery). The price includes Tensite or JA Solar panels, a Growatt inverter, mounting, town-hall legalisation and switching your contract to autoconsumo. We quote a closed price — no hidden costs.
We help with the IRPF income-tax deduction (up to 40 % for energy-efficiency improvements, depending on your region and case) and with the municipal IBI rebate (25–50 % over 3–5 years in most town halls). We don't promise specific percentages: we check your case first.
Average payback on our installations is around 4 years. It depends on your consumption and the kWh price. The quote we send includes a month-by-month table with generation, estimated savings and payback period for your specific case.
Small systems (6–10 panels): 1 day. Medium (12–20 panels, with battery): 1–2 days. Large (20–30 panels + battery + off-grid module): 2–3 days. We lock the date when you confirm the order (10 % deposit).
Formally yes (Declaración Responsable de Obra Menor), but in practice we only request it in three cases: historic areas, installation on a top-floor pergola, or if you want the IBI/IRPF tax benefits. We handle the entire process: technical report, town-hall liaison and the municipal fee (~4 % of the cost — set by the town hall, not us).
Panels: 12 years product, 25 years performance. Growatt inverter: 5 years (extendable to 10). Lithium batteries: 10 years. Installation work: 2 years. Our own technical support plus a direct line to Growatt's lead technician for complex cases.
Our warehouse and office are in Altea (Alicante), so we cover all of Comunidad Valenciana and Murcia at standard rates. For larger projects we travel to Cataluña, Madrid, Andalucía (Marbella) and the rest of Spain — adding a logistics fee calculated per trip.
It depends on your annual consumption. As a reference: 1-2 people (low consumption, < 3,000 kWh/year) → 6 panels (3 kW). Family of 3-4 (3,000-6,000 kWh/year) → 10-12 panels (5 kW). Large house with A/C and EV (> 6,000 kWh/year) → 16-20 panels (8-10 kW). Our calculator gives the exact number from your bill.
Yes. Panels produce energy from diffuse light (cloudy days) at 30-50% of nominal capacity. In Spanish winter (Costa Blanca, Andalucía) production runs at 50-60% of summer levels. For a properly-sized system, average annual production covers 70-90% of household consumption.
Not mandatory. Without battery: use solar power during the day, sell surplus to the grid (autoconsumo compensation). With battery (10-15 kWh): nighttime self-consumption + outage backup. We recommend a battery if you have high nighttime consumption, frequent outages, or want maximum autonomy. Adds €2,200-€4,500.
Modern panels last 30-35 years in real conditions. Product warranty is 12 years (manufacturing defects), linear performance warranty is 25 years (at least 85% of original output). The inverter (most-stressed component) lasts 10-15 years — a minor replacement cost down the line.
Yes, still profitable. Spanish electricity prices rose ~15% on average in 2024-2025 and are forecast to keep rising. Average payback in 2026 is 4-6 years for a typical household, and panels produce energy for 25+ years. IRPF deductions (up to 40%) and IBI rebate are still available.
